The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) is a global, multi-stakeholder non-profit alliance for the consumer goods industry. It consists of more than 250 leading apparel, footwear and textiles, brands, retailers, suppliers, service providers, trade associations, non-profit organizations, NGOs, and academic institutions working to reduce environmental impact and promote social justice across global value chains.
SAC was founded as a non-profit organization and launched the Higg Index suite of tools in 2011. In May 2019, SAC spun off the Higg Index technology platform into Higg, which provides tools and services that help consumer goods businesses accelerate transformation to a more sustainable future.
Higg is a sustainability insights badak togel platform for the consumer goods industry, providing software and services to measure, manage and share supply chain performance data.
From materials to products, from facilities to stores, energy, waste, water and working conditions, Higg opens up a complete view of the social and environmental impact of business.
As a public benefit technology company, Higg is the exclusive licensee of the Higg Index, a set of tools for measuring supply chain sustainability standards.
The afternoon air was not too hot at that time. The wind blew calmly as the sun increasingly tilted to the west. We sat relaxed on the podium chairs in a flat in the South Jakarta area. At first we didn’t have any serious topics to discuss. Chatting casually. The conversation only got a bit serious when our conversation got to the topic of fashion.
Encouraged by an article published in The Actual Style, my friend expressed his curiosity further about sustainable fashion. According to him, if there is the term sustainable fashion, it means there is unsustainable fashion. “What and how exactly is the term sustainable fashion?” he asked curiously.
I thought for a long time. Then I said, we should first ignore the term sustainable-fashion—which often smells more like marketing and imagery—before we finish discussing the issue of sustainability in fashion.
